So, first day back to work in the new year and I immediately have a problem in my home lab with vRA8. Simply put, it isn’t behaving. With some investigation I discovered that /var/log was full (100% utilised space on the volume). What to do? What to do?!?

Resize the vRA/vRO Log Disk

At first, I did remove some of the older log files that were occupying a lot of space (i.e. the very large log files). This did resolve the issue (once I have cleanly shutdown and rebooted). However, I didn’t want this to happen again, so I decided to investigate enlarging the volume. I found a useful article that outlined the approach.

      1. Use vSphere to expand the VMDK on the vRealize Automation appliance.
      2. Log in to the command line of the vRealize Automation appliance as a root user, either through the console or ssh
      3. From the command prompt, run the following vRealize Automation command: vracli disk-mgr resize

    vracli disk-mgr resize
