That’s Simple Isn’t It?

A few versions back you could configure access to your myvmware.com account which meant you could easily download and import into the vRLCM appliance, the installable binaries for Aria products. This is no longer available.

If you navigate into the Binary Mapping screen you will find that very little has changed in there. In fact, this is how you will import additional Aria product binaries into the appliance, before you can deploy into a new or existing environment. You may be wondering how you can import the binaries into vRLCM and in fact, the answer is at the top of the binary screen.

Download Your Required Binary

You will need to login to your Broadcom account and navigate to the downloads section. In this blogpost I will be importing the Operations for Logs binary. As you can see below I have navigated to this project with the downloads section.

The download binary you need for importing is in the OVA format. You may need to squint a bit, but you will see one of the download options is in OVA format. Go ahead and download you binary.

Upload Your Binary to vRLCM

You have two options, but for me, the simpler is to upload the binary direct to the vRCLM appliance using an SFTP client. I typically use WinSCP but there are plenty out there, so from that point of view it’s your choice.

Once you have your client and you are connected to the vRLCM appliance, navigate to the data folder. You will need to upload your OVA binary to this folder. With WinSCP I simply drag and drop it as per the screenshot below.

Back within vRLCM, in the Binary Mapping screen, click the Add Binaries button.

Figure6: Add the binary

Once on the Add Product Binary screen, make sure Location Type is set to Local (default), enter /data for the Base Location path and click Discover. Your uploaded binary will appear in the pane below. Select the tickbox for the binary that you want to import. Finally click Add.

You can follow the import progress by reviewing the request. You can find the request by clicking the Click Here link.

Once the import is complete, you will now be able to select the product for deployment into an environment.
