Hey there, thanks for stopping by !

l am a technology professional with over 20 years IT solution architecture and software development experience, with specialisms in desktop solution infrastructure and automation solutions.

I spent 3 years as an Enterprise Architect for WS Atkins, a 17,000-employee design firm, and subsequently co-founded Xtravirt. I have delivered a wide range of projects including Data Centre migration, Virtualisation solutions delivery, upgrades to Microsoft and VMware product sets, automation and Infrastructure as Code using technologies such as vRA, vRO, Ansible, Puppet, Packer and Terraform. I have experience of working across multiple sectors including Media, Corporate, Finance, Engineering and Defence.

I currently hold the VMware VCP-DCV2020 and VMware VCP-CMA2020 certifications, a certification in DevOps from the British Computer Society and have been awarded the VMware vExpert designation 10 times and vExpert Cloud Management 2 times. I am a Chartered Fellow of the British Computer Society, the highest level of acknowledgment available by them.

In my spare time I enjoy listening to music, playing guitar & bass in bands, writing music, watching films, woodwork and walking my dog. I also volunteer within the community, helping to run a local club for people in the local area. I have volunteered for 7 years, 6 years as Chairman.
